I dont see why it wouldn't be safe unless you've got a really old amp or one with shoddy wiring. Its probably a good idea to plug your amp into a surge protector anyway so you can always use the on/off switch on the surge protector rather than plugging and unplugging it all the time

If its an older tube amp I'm pretty sure that there is still juice going to the tubes but I'm not sure. I'd also plug it into a surge protector as even if its shutoff it can still get burned by a big enough surge.

If its less than 2 years old its probably tubeless and has some built in protection aginst surges. I would recomend maybe getting a better protector. Does yours at least have a reset button?

Well, I go through a rat shack surge protector that is medium quality but I leave about $3,000 worth of synths plugged in 24/7 with no trouble. Apart from the new keyboard I just got today (Roland A-37 controller), everything has been plugged in for over two years. You might want to get a better surge protector but you should be fine.

I left my guitar amps plugged in all the time with no problems. Solidstate amps are pretty simple and are pretty much bomb proof. But, if you're really worried, just reach around and hit the master switch.
