I'm writing a SETI utility and I want to be able to access log files on machines across the Internet...not just a network...that's easy. Basically, the preliminary code is set up so that you can specify the IP addresses of the machines you want to poll. It's going to be set to look in a specific folder and file (ie: c:\SETI@Home\setispy.log), so there won't be any scanning involved. Any ideas as to how I can accomplish this?

Winsock is quite easy to learn.

I had found some excellent free tutorials online quite a while ago (with the help of google). It's really very simple.
