what exactly does this do?

i've read on a forum that it's important to replace the backup bios battery (the one near the clear_cmos jumpers) with an engergizer one. Something about the stock battery not putting out 3 volts exactly? i dont really know...can someone shed some light on this issue?

Never heard of this before.

But a new battery for the BIOS is a good idea.

the only reasons ive seen to replace the battery is if your clock dont keep time right and your bios settings dont apply when you change them. ALLEN
