I need two 8 port switches for my huge lan party. All of the other devices made by other brand names like dlink and SMC were way too expensive. But then i found this: http://www.surecom-net.com/pd-switch-808x_sx_ax.htm

And it was for a really good price ($39 CDN). What amazed me is that it was loaded with Nway Autosensing and Auto MDI/MDIX. And these two features are great to have at a LAN party. I can't find any other brand name that can beat that price with those features. So is Surecom a good brand name to go with?

I haven't used a surecom switch but I’m sure they will be able to handle what you are using them for, just don't expect perfect performance. Also, make sure they are not covered and are ventilated.
