I was wondering if anybody had some home-made waterblocks lying around the house that maybe they would like to donate to a college student? I would like to build a watercooling system before school starts. I live in a dorm and my roomates complain about me leaving my computer on. Right now i have a Skyhawk aluminum case with a bunch of fans in there. I rarely turn my computer off so it sounds like an airplane at night. I'm pretty sure you know what im talking about.

Also, could anyone suggest a college student affordable *cheap* reliable pump? what kind of GPH should I look for in a pump? Is there anyway i could keep my watercooling project on the inside of my case? I like to take my computer with me when i go home during the summer so I really dont want something thats awkward to carry around.

there are a lot of cheap waterblocks... try the gemini cool from www.case-mod.com

cheap and good pump = via aqua 1300 it's like 300+ gph

then you need a radiator of some kind, which you can get from autozone and put barbs to fit the tubing of your choice.. a lot of choices for you

I vouch for the viaaqua, Ive had it for months and no probs. Of course, it vibrates a bit so you want to set it on a mousepad.

How much water should i look for in building my setup? also what radiator should i ask for at the autozone? i was thinking something along the lines of a small car like a ford escort or something?

Also, does anybody know where i could purchase a small capacitor MOV? radioshack has a bunch of them just not the one im looking for, i need one for a powersupply that got hit in a storm for a buddy of mine. The fuse blew and the lil green capacitor was chipped. Its green with the code SCK057 on it, about the size of a dime.

You could always go with a cheap little giant or something simular submersable water pump and make you a cheap resevoir. Lowe's has some for around 16 bucks, but you might be able to find something simular other places, just look around. For tubing, if cheap is what your looking for then go with vinyle, not the best, but can be bought at Lowe's/Home Depot for about $2.00 for 10 feet and will certainly do the job. Also the 1966 Mustang heater core is a good one, alittle taller than the chevett heater core, but not quiet as wide and the same price at autozone. Search the forums on resevoirs, you should find plenty of ideas. Also might want to keep an eye on ebay for water blocks, sometimes you can snag homemade blocks, or even manufactored blocks for cheap.
