can't remember file to change settings...

okay, here is the deal. i remember seeing something about there being a file in windows that you can change where a domain name will take you. for example, if i wanted www.yahoo.com to take me to the ip address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx instead, i could add an entry and it would make it so every time yahoo.com was entered... anybody rememeber where that file is?

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\ and the file is named "hosts" with no extension.

ah thank god you replied so fast i was about to take my router back because i was unable to view my website due to a loopback issue where it wouldn't allow me to display any content from my ip address... i just set my webserver's local ip address to my domain name and voila! thanks a bunch!

*edit: btw, do you know if there is anywhere that i can change a setting like that in windows me? if i can't find something for my dad's computer, i will prolly just end up upgrading to 2k again*

*2nd edit: it looks like hosts.sam in the c:\windows directly does the same thing in windows me*
