nforce2 vs 875 boards question

do nforce boards have those pci agp locks like the 875 boards? also are these locks new or did intel boards always had them? do they factor much into helping overclocking?

I have no nforce boards,but I think most motherboards have this function.If PCI and AGP are't locked,it maybe faltered the stability.I think.

nForce2 boards have it but no other AMD boards do.

q149 is correct, NF2 boards have the lock. They are EXTREMELY essential in good overclocking, as they allow the PCI/AGP/SATA bus to run at the default, stable speed.

This is the reason why VIA KT chipsets are nearly worthless at overclocking...you hit a certain speed and your PCI devices go whacked, or your AGP does, or your SATA drive decides to not show up in the BIOS anymore lol.

OR your HDDs decide to die....... stay far away from anything but the newest stuff if you plan to o/c a lot.
