ah, in that case you will need to get php and configure it for apache, then get mysql installed and running, once all that is set up download phpBB and install it. Thats a breif overview of whats required, if you have a problem with any particular part of the installation please post it. :)
 
you would need php for a php driven forum or cgi/perl a cgi/perl driven forum and then you need a database software(like mysql) for database driven forums.
