If I can unlock the multipliers on my t-bird why would I want to unlock the multiplier on my motherboard?

You re-connect the L1 bridges to unlock your T-Bird & then set the multipler via the m/b or BIOS...

Closing the L1 bridges on the processor allows you to change the multiplier. The multiplier is accually part of the motherboard. The dips and jumpers on the mobo are what you use to change the the multiplier if your BIOS does not have the option to change it. If you do not close the L1s and try to change the multiplier it will either not boot or revert to the default multiplier.
