Knoppix violates patents?

Has anybody checked out www.knoppix.com recently? A friend told me to check it out a few minutes ago and I was surprised by what was there. Is this new or is this old news in the linux community?

Follow the link. This is part of a protest against software patents in Europe. A lot of sites are doing this, it doesn't specifically have to do with Knoppix.

Click on the Knoppix link to get to the real page, the site is still up AFAIK. I think the point is to demonstrate what could happen if software patents are allowed.
