Hello. I want to overclock my Athlon Barton 2500+ CPU, but I don't know why. The cooler is an ThermalTake Volcano 11+.

I don't know if is best to overclock the FSB or to up the multiplier. I want to get it to 200x11 because I have PC-3200 memory with it.

Is best to get it to 166x13 and have more memory but PC-2700?

Which motherboard is best? I'm thinking in an Abit, but I don't know which.

I don't want to up the vcore, but I want a good overclocking, please help me!!!

Another thing: Perhaps is best to buy another processor, if you think it, tell me one is best (obviosly it may be AMD).

Best is to go for the FSB. You get more memory bandwith and more speed overall.
I have my 2500+ stable at 3200+ without upping vcore but there's no guarantee that every barton can do this since every CPU is a bit different.
The abit nforce2 motherboards seem to be very nice boards.
Surf this board a bit and read up what people say about it.

everyone says FSB is king, but benchmarking your own system for stability and real-world results is the only way to really know.
