Red Hat Dialer?

ATTN: Linux Newbe here. In a last ditch effort before shelling out $ for a hardware modem, I got RH9 to see and configure my winmodem. I can go into my Network devises and activate it, but For the life of me I can't get the thing to dial out. Am I missing something simple here?

kppp is the modem dialer program in KDE.

theres a list of dialup programs, granted they are gentoo but if your interested im sure you could google them and find the redhat RPM's
