I've got those Omega's installed for my fx 5600. They do perform a little better (not really that noticable). I benchmarked before and after installing (just to see if they really are better). It upped my 3dmark03 scores by about 100. I had the performance setting selected in the install menu (you can go for performance or quality). Performance seemed to work pretty well. I'm happy with them... too bad there won't be any new versions of the Omega drivers for nVidia cards though.

I read a forum thread (not in overclockers.com), from the guy who makes the Omega drivers. He said nVidia's lawyers tried coming after him for reverse engineering their software. I guess the charges couldn't stick, because those drivers are made using registry tweeks. I think they came back at him and made him remove their logo from his site (www.omegacorner.com). So aparently hes pretty mad, and is not developing any new Omegas for nVidia cards.

I remember reading that a while ago too, looks like he's still making Nvidia drivers though cause he just added the 45.23 drivers on the 20th of this month, was a good while before that when he said he wouldn't make anymore Nvidia drivers.

i have the drivers installed on my 5600 ultra as well they gave me a 50 piont gain in 2003! on the ti 4200 i got better scores with the older 42.xx series drivers. i believe they optomizing the 45.xx and 51.xx drivers around the fx and dx9 interface. i mean yes they are backwards compatable with ti's. but the older drivers are tweeked around the g-faoce 4.

anyway you can give them a try and see. if you don't lik'em just uninstall them and reinstall youre old ones!

good luck

I'll be looking forward to installing the v51-based Omega's for my card then! I wonder what happened with that whole nVidia vs Omega dealie??? Maybe nVidia changed their tune after ATi included him as one of their elite beta testers...
