Falcon 4.0 Gold Prepares for Takeoff

Xicat Interactive today announced a partnership with G2 Interactive to bring Falcon 4.0 Gold: Operation Infinite Resolve to the PC in October.

Falcon: OIR is a single or multiplayer air combat simulation set in the Korean peninsula. Take the role of a F-16 or A-10 jet pilot and fight your way through a real-time war in progress. Falcon: OIR's superb 3D photo realistic, texture-mapped graphics and detailed models of F-16 and A-10 avionics, weapons and threats will provide a truly realistic combat flight simulation experience. The ongoing simulation of a complex air/land/sea battle, called the Campaign Manager, will create all of the tension, chaos and adventure that exist in modern air combat.

Don't drool too much

Those that still fly falcon should be familiar with the current patch SP3 and the creators agreement with G2I. Basically OIR will be EXACTLY what you can get for free just in a neatly packaged bundle. The catch is the creators aren't getting **** for credit. If you want the long story go to http://www.frugalsworld.com/ and check out the forums there.

Again This guy Claude that heads up G2I has done nothing but screw over the hardcore sim community for the last 2 years.

Regards,

Cochese

Its a very long and rather ugly story but I'll try to sum it up. Around the time that the last Efalcon Patch (Efalcon 1.10) and the last Realism Patch Group Patch (RP5) came out, The Falcon source code was bought by G2 Interactive.
This is when we first got news of Falcon 5 and OIR. An Agreement was made by G2I, members of Eteam, and members of RPG to form a Team to make one "Super Patch" combining the best that both teams had to offer. Thus F4 Unified Team was created.
F4UT was permitted to create a series of patches for Falcon but G2I reserved the right to use any of their works for future releases. These Patches were Dubbed "Superpak 1, 2, and 3.
SP3 is the latest one and 4 is supposedly around the corner.

Operation Infinite Resolve Is nothing more than a packaged version of SP3. They Claim it will have more features but I have learned to take everything G2I says with a grain of salt.

For those of you who want to breathe new life into your virtual falcons I strongly suggest you read this install guide http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/s...threadid=25598 There is a wealth of history and more info on the current situation than I could ever write about here and this forum is free
