lol i can't either... there is a trainer out there but it's just for $$, and the way the ai rushes with the infiltrator frigs it doesn't really help.

ah, i just completed the third mission. pretty damn hard... and on top of that when i tried the trainer it gave the ai tons of cash too, so he was constantly rushing me. so whatever you do don't use the trainer it will actually make it harder than it already is.

i've given up on this game for the moment... the fourth mission isn't much easier at all. on the third mission i kept between 4-6 marine frigates at the shipyard with 1-2 resource collectors gaurding each of them. i think i had a few squadrons of fighters and grouped them then used F7 to make them fly as fighter screen (F4 will make them aggressive). then what i did was send out bombers and pulsar gunships to take out the cartriers (but only took one down). i think the main thing is the shipyard is supposed to be boarded, because once you take it back (granted you can) you win the mission. just make sure to protect the marine frigates at all costs, but don't build a ton because you need to have some offensive capabilities... the unit cap is low and the resources are low on top of that. if you go to attack the carriers make sure to group the attackers and target specific things on the carrier (like the frigate bay, fighter bay, engines etc - but frigate bay priority). it's generally good i think to group any squadron of fighters and bombers because they can be ordered to dock easily with one click and will be repaired and their numbers "filled in".

hope this helps, and since i have nothing better to do i wrote a huge run-on paragraph :P . can you pm the link to the .txt editor?

*off topic - why are Americans the only people on the planet that speak only one language?!?!? there is no way i could go to a Danish forum and take part. take my hat off to you...

Pulsar corvettes are your friends they completely own any other fighters/corvettes. That and never build frigates besides ion cannons for support. Your frigates are pieces of crap compared to the vygar.

And platforms are always a good idea. Nothing like a 12 ion cannon platform screen.

My help/advice to you is that you play the game a little more before you ruin it with cheats.

With the right amount of training you'll be fine

played quite a bit enough to jack people in multiplayer ... but that mission is a pain in the ass. if i can't pass it i will just skip it and move on.

I gave up on mission 3 a long time ago. I think the 1player VS. CPU mode a lot more fun, especially 3 vs. 3
Why is this game so hard on mission 3?? I can't even name the number of people that have told me the same thing, it gets pretty frustrating playing the same mission 15 times to beat it.
Oh well, thankfully it has strong points elsewhere in the game

It's the same thing with a lot of other strategy games. I've played a lot of other strategy-games that had a level in the beggining of the game that was really hard to beat. But once you get passed that level ohh man..what a feeling hehe :P
