Question Fast advice on Iwaki pump!


Just want to know if this model is good for watercooling:

Those are excellent for watercooling.

EXCEPT those are 220V pumps. (I'm guessing you are looking at the ones on Ebay.)

I've got a 220V MD20-R that I got running with the addition of a $10 transformer.

If people want to get these, and are knowledgeable about working with high voltage, those can be an excellent deal.

A word of warning though. The transformer I used is no longer sold by www.allelectronics.com, I'm sure something equivalent can be found cheaply, but it may take some looking.

yeah found it on e-bay new for 45$, but I would like 110V.... is there some model that are 110v?

Yes there are 110V models, but off the top of my head, I think new ones cost about $120.

I'm tempted to buy one of those as a backup.

Just noticed, those pumps have a power factor correction capacitor. (Some MD15's don't) Eliminates the need to add the cap to use it with a transformer.
