MCP - SPP - IGP

I did a search on this, but couldn't find what I was looking for. What are the basic differences between the NForce2 SPP and IGP chipsets. I know the IGP has onboard video.

Is the SPP the same as IGP, just lacking onboard video?

Thanks for the help.

The IGP and SPP are basically the northbridge. The only difference would be onboard video in the IGP. MCP is the southbridge, and MCP-T is the 'fancy' southbridge with soundstorm and firewire.

i would like to know something similar too but for the SB. theres mcp mcp2 mcpt and im wonderin wats the difference.

the t has soundstorm ie hardware sound like a sound card and also 1394 support

the other has your basic realtec software sound same as most via boards so your cpu does all the work

my advice is pay the extra you will not regret it
