I've found that Intel fans (Shadow included, I remember him saying this) agree that the P4 sucks. Personally, I think that there's no reason not to get AMD (cost, performance, overclocking) right now, but hey, that's just me.

Yeah, but SSE2 is polluting that SiSoft pic.. and someone REALLY needs to do an edit job and get rid of the rest of the desktop. Besides, most of you guys are playing with AXIA or AVIA or AYJHA (I think) cores.. and I'm stuck with an ADEA for now. If the old copper cores were nicknamed Blue Meanies, this one would be nicknamed a Green Weenie. I'm considering picking up a 1.2 and playing with it, but maybe after I finish setting up this new case the way I want it.

Psh.. you want old socket-A cores? I have a Duron AKAA sitting in front of me right now. Original unlocked 650.
easy thats my desktop , I even cleaned it up a little ,I probably got the messiest their is , I think thats why I am sticking with windows, if not for the once a month reformat , I would be in serious trouble lol
I would go for a 1 ghz and not the 1.2 , you should get about the same results with a 1ghz axia or better then you would with just about any 1.2 unless you just got really lucky

I'm annoyed if my desktop ever has more than 8 icons on it.. I toss everything either onto a custom toolbar on the left side of the desktop, or into custom menus above Programs on the Start menu. Then again, I make my own backgrounds, so I like to see my work clearly. About the 1 GHz vs 1.2 GHz, I think I'd rather have the unlocked chip of the two, since the cost isn't really an issue with the mid- to high-end chips anymore.

Mine is a unlocked 1ghz axia at 1.366 only cause my mb wont go higher , I can get it to 1.4 but my video card doesnt like running at 300mhz and my pci devices dont like running at 40ish mhz either .

And my memory score, just cause I took a picture of it while I was doing everything else. Looks like the P4 has got me on this one.

It's a pretty good board, I have 2 of them but I think I'm gonna go for an Iwill DDR MoBo next. Just to see what it's like.

I was also waiting for the Nvidia crush board to come out , the 128 bit ddr will be faster then rambus ram and has alot of extras , it comes with onboard audio and video (GF2MX) which is a decent little extra but I want to see it for myself first in the hands of others , I dont really like integration but as long as there is a way to completly disable them I dont really mind
