MY help is halting temporarily!

Have to leave this good thing that I've been enjoying for the last couple of years. Since the hurricane here management has been gradually increasing the rent and they have reached my limit. I'm am leaving this place for a smaller place that so far doesn't appear to be capable of supporting my addiction. Puters are going into storage while I look for another good deal. I'm going to miss folding with you guys and wish you the best of luck in reaching number 1. I'll be back just as soon as I possibly can. This is also an opportunity to seek a higher paying job. Wish me luck as I do you.

Royal Wesley: A folding addict with no place to fold .

JetMech I sincerely wish you the best of luck my friend! We will try to pick up the slack while you reorganize your situation. If you need anything at all, just ask. Secure your living arrangements as that is most important.

Surely you will have ONE machine to at least go on line with no?

JetMech you are one of the classiest, most dedicated folders in the whole project. I wish you nothing but the best

Thanks Nik. Unfortunately I'm falling back to dialup and I have to buy a modem to do that.

JetMech,
I have an old 3com network modem you can have. you can have 4 pc's connected to this as it acts as a hub and if any PC on the network needs the internet it dials out automatically. I've not needed it for months now so you are more then welcome to it. Send me a PM if you are interested.

good luck

Well I'm working it out tho I will only have two machines. I'm in a smaller room now so I don't have the space for a big farm. The good news is that this place has Wi Fi lan and all I need is an adapter in each to give them unlimited access.

I'm just seeing the many offers for assistance and I will tell you that you guys are the greatest. I had only 7 hours to vacate and still get my deposit so I baled pretty quick. Rent at the other place jumped to 300.00 per week like overnight so I had to s**t and git. I took a gander at the extreme stats and boy did I see RED. Man you guys have been busy.

The first box to come on will be my latest, P4 2.6c@3120. I'll be bringing my old main on line tomorrow. Again thanks for your support and hopefully I'll be around for a while.

JetMech... Don't think of this as a "bye" it's just a temporary downgrade to a couple of boxes. Life does that to you sometimes. So ask for what you need because we all have parts laying around.

If you're going dial up, I can make you a four or eight instances install that way you'll have FAH running on at least one of them while you're off line.

Good luck to you JetMech, and I would like to reiterate what Nik said, you've always been a great team member with excellent posts and support.

Come back soon and often no matter what you have folding.

Wedo

Guess I should have opened a new thread instead of adding to the old one. I'm back alive. I can feel the fold coursing through my veins. Nothing like a good folding fix to wake one from the dead.

Hey Jet Mech, sorry to hear you had to skeedaddle in such a big hurry, and glad that you are managing a recovery so quickly...
As one of the most prominent assets of the Folding Team, I'm sure we are all relieved to hear that you are putting things back together as quickly as time and space allow...

Fold on... >

A team member of long standing, too, I would add. And one whom I consider to be a personal friend of mine.

Hey, Jet, my folding friend! Hope you have been doing well!

I saw you in the milestone thread and decided that I should touch base with an old friend.

You have been cranking out some serious points! That's great.

Let me know if you're still out there. I know I often go a month or so without checking back into the forum.

Fold on, bro!

Well, just a little more active in the forum, really. Summer electric bills are a little high, even without folding 24 X 7 X ???Ghz. Damn. I don't even remember how many Ghz I have.

Oh, what the heck. Maybe I'll crank them all up again and see how much difference it makes.

Hi Ned. Yeah I'm still plugging though constantly going backward in position. So many super folders around today. All anyone at my level can do is continue to contribute. Days of racing are over. My new place comes with wireless internet and I have been able to produce more with four machines than I did with six.

Hope this message finds you well. I too don't come into the forums as much as I used to. A lot of the original guys have either backed off or stopped and don't post much. I still like to browse every day, I just don't do much posting. I'm not as knowledgable about the latest methods of getting the job done, and we have an excellent base of experts so I let my machines do the talking for me. Real good seeing you stop by and thanks for the expression of friendship.

Definitely get those machines up and running. PM me. I might be able to help.

Ain't that the truth. Super folders and sub teams. And so many get to fold on the machines at work.

They all still work; all but one. The power supply died on that one.

I don't fold on all of them 24/7 any more because I want to keep my electric bill low. One or two boxes folding isn't too bad. But, six or seven boxes folding 24x7 adds up.

It felt kind of weird the first time I turned them off. They had never been turned off, except for maintenance, since I got them. Sure was quiet.

I still have DSL, though. And they are all still networked, all with DSL access through the internet server. The hardware is still in place.
