where can i find the cheapest HD?

If you don't need it right away, I'd say the best deal on a HD could be found for sale here in the Forums (after 100 posts).

Yep. I agree with that so much. I think someone's selling some 160gb hard drives for $90.

You'll get a new HDD for (WD) for $39 with pricewatch. 40 GB drives will cost you $5 more. Doubt you'll get something substantially cheaper than these.

There are constant rebate offers if you can lay out the money for a few months. Compusa has just about constant ads for 30-40gb Maxtors for $40 after rebate but it's something like $70 up front.

Man hdd prices sure did drop since i bought one from a retail store. I got my 40gb WD from CompUSA for $100 without rebates back then.
