cd rom problem

Hi,
I recently received a LG dvd/cdrw combo drive as a gift from a friend. Whenever the drive reads a cd it makes a very loud noice and the computer case shakes a little(not sure if it is because the cd is spinning too fast). Does anyone else have a problem with this drive?

Is this a new gift from a friend or a hand-me-down? If it's new, just return it to the store it came from. If it's a hand-me-down, just run it till it dies.

it runs cds just fine its just the noise problem. But the store where I got it from is very far away from here so it's kinda hard to refund it.
