Help connecting PS controller port to PC

does anybody know of a way to hook PS controller ports to your PC? i have an adaptor already, but id rather just walk up and plug in like you do on old school playstation. i was thinking if i could somehow wire the PS ports to the USB headers on the mobo, thus eliminating the need for an adaptor. is this possible to do? if so, does anybody have any good diagrams or tutorials?

Bart

eh, wish I could help you more...but....

try googling for the PS port schematics...use various words like wiring, pinout, etc. Or even try searching for a ps controller to PC adapter...whatever you come up with might come with schematics.

Unfortunately, I really couldn't tell you. I'm more than sure that it's possible, but unless it's been done before, it'll take a bit of work on your part.

what you could do, i think, if you have front usb, is cut off the front ports, leaving you with a wire that connects to your mobo and has the correct number of wires in it for a usb connection. then, cut the usb plug off your ps adapter you have, make the correct connections, and solder the wires. Then mod your adapter into your case.

I think the Vantec Nexus Multifunctional Panel has USB and firewire ports, plus it looks sweet.

just remember though if you get the nexus, you'd be disabling it's usb ports by doing this mod. an alternative to using front usb would be buying a usb cable and hacking that up, and then running it out the back (maybe make a pci-slot bracket for it) and into a free usb port.
