......after installing the Vcool CPU idle program.

This program uses the 'Northbridge Bus Disconnect Bit' to idle the processor. My 1Ghz Duron used to idle at 37oC, its running at 27oC right now!.

Everything seems to run OK, appears to be too good to be true!
I know the processor is drawing much less current because I can see the 5V supply rise from 4.88V(sag under load) to 5.03V.
The documentation says problems exist in some systems, but why isn't use of this type of cooling more widespread?

which mobo and chipset are you using? It says it works on KT133x chipset is the x a variable so the 133a would be okay with it.

More info

Sorry, forgot to add my system details to the original post - see below.

So, yeah, it seems to work perfectly (so far) in my kk266 which uses the 133a chipset.
A friend has a KT7E with Duron 900@1050 and it works fine in that setup too.

It should work with any chipset that uses a 686A or 686B Southbridge and a VT8371 or VT8363 or an AMD761 Northbridge.

So that does include the VIA KX133 and both KT133 and KT133A chipsets

You can check your PCI device list (WPCREDIT) for the following IDs:

Vendor: 1106 (VIA) ID: 3057 (SB)
Vendor: 1106 (VIA) ID: 0305 (NB) or
Vendor: 1106 (VIA) ID: 0391 (NB) or
Vendor: 1022 (AMD) ID: 700E (NB)
