ack! my Alt key doesnt work O.o suggestions?

well I just reinstalled.. and aside from all the other things it fsked up.. my Alt key doesnt seem to work. I cant alt + tab or bring up menus.. can anyone think of what this might be.. its a multimedia kb and all the special keys work just not Alt its in XP Pro

Try another keyboard to see if it's your current keyboard or not. If the alt key works on the other keyboard, then you know what the problem is.

I've taken keyboards apart and fixed them before but generally, it's 'throw away' technology.

If that's not it, then I would hate to think of what it could be. Perhaps a bad PS2 port? Seems unlikley. Since you just reinstalled, I REALLY doubt that it's keyboard mapping.

I would try to un-plug it, uninstall the stuff for it, and re-do it.
