New Rig

I got my SB75G2 and P4 @2.6 (so far) today, and in about 1/2 hour, it will be folding. My wife was a little ****ed when I picked it up, but I think she forgot about it after I bought her a $2K bed room set. I told her it was christmas, ,birhday, ,and aniversary all in one for 2 years. She laughed, ,but I'm serious, I am . I'll keep everyone informed. This is different for me, I haven't had an Intel since my PII 400. This is a little faster than that one, but should be fun none the less. Oh, and I'm still loyal to AMD, just wanted to see what the other side has to offer. I almost got the Opteron and mobo but it was more than this sys costed and I would have to get a case at that. I'll keep you guys updated. C'ya

I'm an AMDer myself but like you, I want to grab a HT chip to play with/fold on. Good luck getting that up and running! Fold On!

As said before, I'm fairly new to Intel, what flags are valid for folding. I'm so used to putting the advmethods and forceasm flags, are they necessary for the P4 running the borg install? Thnx

Be careful folding on that minibox. I run folding on an Iwill XP4 minibox kit with a P4 1.5 and it runs very hot. I just did some cooling hacks to my SN41G2 and I am finally confident enough to game/fold with the cover still on the thing.

The big thing for me was isolating the PSU - those little power supplies backwash a lot of hot air back into the case. I fashioned an external cold air intake for the PSU and taped off all the other vents in the PSU except for the external exhaust. Much better.

The SB75G2 has 2 fans in it, 1 sucking hot air from within the case and the other blowing it out the rear. But so far, I have not had any probs folding with a SFF. My SN41G2 has not had any probs either. Not to mention they are not O/C and it is winter now, so cooling should not be a prob.

sounds like fun. i've been wanting to test drive an intel system as well. sorta changed that dream to an FX box now since they have the speed title. either should be interesting.

advmethods and forceasm is all you need for Intel machines.
