k7d and heatsink question

k7d and heatsink question


saw a post about which coolers will fit on k7d before, but couldn't find it. wonder if slk900 with 80mm fans will work for this board?

see the thread i just bumped up for ya. K7D and heatsinks. If they're bigger than 85mm sqare you gonna have a problem. Just the 80mm style heatsinks are a tight squeeze.

cmc mentioned that slk900 won't work, does this include slk900a with 80mm fan as well?

I think the 900A should be able to fit since the fins run parallel to the memory, just like an 800A. I believe the 800A and 900A are actually the same width but the 900 is longer, so if anything you will be concerned about capacitor clearance but contacting the other heatsink shouldn't be a problem.
