Ok, so I bought a new HD and one of the $200 Radeon 9800's from CC and a couple more fans and when I installed them, my machine refused to boot up OC'ed. After setting it back to default, it runs, but MBM5 shows my PSU as being stressed. Not surprised by this as its a crappy turbolink or some such PSU that came with my case, and it was stressed out running my machine OC'ed before I put in the extra hardware. I removed the new stuff and my machine runs fine OC'ed. So, I am looking for a new PSU and was wondering if this one would be a good purchase or if I should look at a 500+ watt PSU?

any help or suggestions would be appreciated, I'm looking to spend around $75 or less. thanks

I personally think you would be better off buy the 530watt Fortron from newegg...Or the 430 watt Antec TruePower from directron versus the 400watt Fortron model you are considering...I just purchased one and must tell you that it has four SATA power connectors at the cost of standard molex connectors...;)

But for 75.00 dollars make no mistake...You cant beat the 530watt Fortron with a bat...It and the 350watt Fortron with the single 120m/m fan are easily the best bang for buck power supplys on the planet...:D

I have three Fortron and am extremely pleased
wth them all.
Persoanlly, I wouldn't pay extra for the 530w when this 400w
is such a beast. :)
Rarely more than 1% on any rail under heavy load.

And I would NOT recommend the Fortron with the 120mm
bottom fan. The fan & grill get in the way while installing
the PSU. And the model with the 80mm back fan is more quiet
and gives lower temps to boot!
It seems the large bottom fan was robbing the case fan. :(
