I have spent the last couple of months researching all the components I am going to get for my new system. I'm replacing my AMD333 on a PCChips board with a new 2500 Barton. Thankfully, I read the locked Barton post BEFORE I ordered it online. Instead of ordering online and taking my chances, I spent this morning in my local shops. In the 6th shop I went into, I found the following:
AQXEA 0334 SPMW
I haven't yet bought the MB or any of the other components I want to try it out, but I am sure this chip is unlocked as it is from 34.
Don't forget the local shops, especially the smaller ones, that may have older Bartons where you know what you are getting.
