wtf with the onbord LAN?

Ok whats the trick with the onbord LAN?

I cannot connect to my network or internet whilst trying to use the onbord eithernet, I ran the cd that i got with the mobo and I see the instalation of the eithernet drivers and it saiz it is all good in the hardware manager but still no connection?

As soon as i fit a pci eithernet, bang conects straight away with no problems.

What must i be doing rong? Do i have to enable somthing that i am not?

Could you have a driver conflict with another NIC?
