FX5700 joins the team with a 700mhz core clock!

hey guys what's up.

well i represented the team pretty well with my 5600 ultra with the highest core clock of any fx 5600 ultra at 530/1100mhz. and a highest 3dmark 2003 score of 4204. beating out extreme systems 3dmark team!

i desided to get a fx5700 on board for the team. i'm useing an Albatron fx5700 ultra. the card clocked 625/1050 right out of the box. after voltmodding the card and putting in some copper BGA ram sinks and a swiftech water block. i hit 700/1080. and took first in 3d mark 2003 build 340 with non WHQL drivers 53.03. again beating out the extremsystems team. plan on running the WQHL drivers 52.16 tomorrow.

Excellent job Waldow!!! It's nice to see the OC3Dmark Team take first place in several categories.

I currently am in 1st place in both the MX440 and Ti4200 categories for 3dmark03 build 340.

Ti4200 score = 2208

MX440 score = 475

It was the highest ever core clock, unfortunately walldow you have become collateral damage in my ongoing arms race with Finwe in 3dmark2001

I have volt modded and am now at 535 core, Finwe is volt modding as well soon and is already on 510+.

5600 is old news been there done that!i was one of the first to even do the volt mod for the fx 5600! and in caes you didn't know the card i had was an origanal 5600 chip not the flip chip that is out now! so that is a feat in itself.

now the 5700 that i have at hand?

you want some?

If it's old news why do you mention it in the first post ?

Once Finwe beats me with his phase change system and volt mod on the 5600U I'll move back to the 5700U

I know, you've probably got about 6 backup scores by now all lined up Should be an intensive time ahead. Unless I kill my card due to too much beer and too many thumbs.

When Finwe gets his phase change going he'll be the 5600U king in both 3dmark03 ( well, if he could post results for older builds of course) and 2001, unless it blows up of course.

Some imposter is #1 in 3dmark03 for the 5700U, how come you are letting him stay at this position ? Not slacking are you ?

check out the orb!

once again 2001 is too cpu and fsb orianted. 90% of the time when a faster pc is running the bench, the faster pc wiil win.

i don't call that a true card performance reading! more like system mark!

Smack down time to Mr Imposter Nice score and core clock.

overclocker550, if you want to see some nice 5700U 2001 runs then just look at my scores My 5700U/AMD64 gets on the second page of the 5900 class , not bad with only half the number of pipes.

Have to agree with walldow on his summary of 2001 and 2003, though I prefer 2001 for the same reason, ie you have more things to tweak , not just the video card. I only do 3dmark03 coz it's fun competing against walldow, other than that it is ****ing boring

Interestingly, the AMD64 range seems to be better at car in 2001 and the P4 EE ( and Prescott ? ) seem better at GT1 in 2003 ..so soon you will neeed and AMD64 and a P4 EE to compete in both benchmarks successfully.

And before anyone mentions games ( again ) I'd like to say that

1) That is the equivalent og going shopping in your car, we all do that. Benching is the equivalent of run what you brung drag racing for fun.

walldow, do your ram too, from what i've seen so far, the ram is good for 1.2ghz with some proper cooling and will do more if lapped

and also i've just figured out a way to cheat the 3dmark system and trump anything anyone out there has...

and no, i dun think its possible to detect too, cause its not in them drivers

here's a start:

you know Edward2's mx440 scores out there right?

well, the card is *very* different from a mx460 right? but yet it uses the same core (well, maybe binned)

but if you used a mx 460 them drivers will say its an mx460 right?

BUT

what if you did them resisters for the mx460 so the card would get read by the drivers as an mx440, which then when you flash the bios into an mx440, you've just freed up maybe ~30mhz headroom and also maybe ~50mhz headroom on the ram, which WILL beat out **any** mx440 out there right?

or maybe if we try that out with the ti4200 scores, except that we're really on a ti4600, **then** its all fun and games right?

e.g. remember the albatron ti4200 turbo? the thing that was really a ti4600? well, what if it was REALLY a ti4600?? e.g. with a *real* ti 4600 core?

then it IS a ti4600 right? i mean both the drivers AND 3dmark could care less, cause its the same core anyways, but just binned differently

so lets say i took a fx5950 ultra turbo whatever, overclocked it, volt-moddded it, and then peltier and watered it, and then popped its heatspreader, and then did the ram like bladerunner, and then called it a fx5600

http://www.zerofanzone.co.uk/project...x5900wc035.jpg

i bet no 5600 in the world is ever going to touch it right?

much less if i took your fx5700 and called it a fx5200, then no matter how "ultra" whoever's 5200 is, or what whatever version or revision it really is or whatever cooling he/she has, i bet he still can't touch your "5200" with a ten foot pole, right?

just like that quadro fx thing i was talking about earlier

edit: you could proally even get things like a geforce fx 5100 go and a 5300 from the process, and it'd be really hilarious to see a "geforce fx 5100 go" have the same shader scores as a 5900, since its really a 1x1 pipeline

oh wait, or why not just make a fx5950 read as a tnt vanta or something, be hilarious since the *real* tnt vanta last i checked can't even run 3dmark03, much less get ~5k or what ever points...

be funny to see that
