Why do you fold?

I don't know if this has been done before, a short search returned no resuts.

Why do YOU fold?

I fold because I HATE wasting my computer by not using it

I fold for a couple of reasons. I hope that the knowledge that it produces can benefit us somehow (new drugs/treatments). Mostly I fold for the feeling of being on a team and doing something bigger than myself. And if I can do that while doing something worthwhile, then that's a bonus. I guess that's why SETI never appealed to me - the team aspect was there but not the worthwhile cause (to me at least, I don't want to bash anyone who participates in the SETI program).

I do it because this forum was my first real forum and since they have something going that I can help, I fold (and because of personal reason too)

To be honest at first I just started folding because I was a member of this forum and wondered what "folding" was. I came in here and thought, why not? So I started folding and then a little later started reading more of what its actually about and got interested, and now I fold for the cause! Devided we stand united we fold!

I fold for nikhsub1 and others like him.
There's not to many times in life you have the opportunity to participate in something to has the patential to affect so many peoples life. not only the people who suffer from the disorder but also there family and friends.

This program, this team is bigger then all of us, and I don't just mean team 32 but all the teams, every one who is helping in any way.
Some day this is going to do something big and I wan't to be part of it!!!!!

I began folding for Team 32 because is seemed like such a worthwhile cause, and once I had been convinced that it would have no negative affects on my computer or my wallet, I started folding 24/7...Been at it for 1 year now...
Its a GOOD thing...

I feel kind of uncomfortable donating money to many charities, because you never know how it is going to be used, or whose pocket it is going into. With folding, I know my contribution is going to be used 100% for what it was intended. It makes me feel good to be able to help.

The friendly competition in the stats are also a lot of fun.

i fold so i can watch my name fly up the stats chart....and for free prizes i win for borging the crap out of everything....its all about the thrill of competition for me

oh and the fact that it can benefit us all. i mean my excessive drinking is eventually going to blow up something in my body, and all my friends bodies. its a race to find the cure before we all need the cure, pretty beneficial to me!

Top five answers to "Why do you fold?"

5. The cure.

4. The cause.

3. The Team.

2. The chicks.

1. The kittens.

(not in that order)
