bios flash

this question may seem dumb but......
why are some bios files 460kb in size and some only 244kb?
one bios says "support for xp2400 and 2600 cpu's this is 460kb in size. the latest bios is only 244kb in size and does not mention anything about this cpu support.
so if i want support for the fastest 266 fsb cpu's should i use the earlier version of the bios?
I'm a little confused

There's probably a flash utility included in the larger BIOS files, when you unpack the file (self extracting zip file) there should be a .ROM file which is 256kB.

Most of the time it's best to use the latest BIOS update as they include all previous fixes (even if they're not mentioned for that particular update), but the latest is not always the greatest, it's kinda like windows, sometimes they've fixed some bugs and put in some new ones.

I would just try the latest first, and if it's giving you problems roll back to the previous update...etc till everything is fine.

Make sure the PCB version matches!!!

Why not use one of the modded overclocking bios from HoneyX?
What's the other one?

You get a whole bunch of bus speeds to play with.
