Dhrystone benchies on Mandrake 9.2

Hi there, please bear with me as I am a noob to linux more or less and have some Qs here regarding dhrystone benchies and mandrake 9.2.

Is dhrystone2.1 and 1.1 smp aware?
I have no idea what these benchies mean, but can some one tell me if my results are any good?

running 50000000 loops

Dhrystone(1.1) time for 50000000 passes = 8.7
Register option selected? NO
This machine benchmarks at 5740528.1 dhrystones/second
VAX MIPS rating = 3267.233

Dhrystonre(2.1)
Register option selected? NO
Microseconds for one run through Dhrystone: 0.2
Dhrystones per Second: 5102040.8
VAX MIPS rating = 2903.837

I just installed Mandrake 9.2 after struggling with an Accton nic with Suse 8.1 pro (the Accton is a nic with a Realtek chipset 1207D)
I am very impressed, now been struggling with installing VMware to run chess on this machine.

Anyone know where the heck I can get the source for Mandrake 9.2 and how to install it?

Thanks a bunch.

Nah, it's not smp aware. It's a synthetic cpu mark, it doesn't test much beyond the cpu. SiSandra CPU benchmark has a variant of dhrystone and whetstone. Dhrystone is an integer test and whetstone is a floating point test. The test is more useful when comparing different architectures than comparing cpus of the same architecture... If you're running an Athlon, I bet your, VAX MIPS / Mhz > 1.0. My 2.4ghz P4 only got 2200 / 2400 Mhz < 1.0 (with the intel compiler Dhry2.1).

Other machines (Dhry2.1):
1.4ghz Pentium M VAX MIPS = 1990
300mhz Sparc Ultra2 VAX MIPS = 329
