What could do this to a power supply? It was fine a week ago and then the pc started locking up and then it would not come on. WellI finnaly got it booted and it sits around 2.2 and peaks @2.5V! Could there be an underlying problem or is th p/s just dying?

You upgraded your PC recently?
hmmm...
maybe your PSU is dying.

Get a new PSU might be your preferred choice...
or...take out whatever you had upgraded.

well I put in in an enermax 431w silent power psu as a temp until I get a new one for it. it helped but the 3.3v is still low. It now sits @3.2-3.2v. I know that is not that llow but it is still lower than I would like. What could be sucking it down like this? Theo system specs are :
Mobo= Chaintech 7NJS Ultra Zenith
MEM= 512 corsair performance pc2700
Vid card= MSI GF4ti4200
Sony DVD/CDR-RW
Zalman speed controler
slk900u
zalman nb cooler on south bridge
