java problims

i want to get java 2 runtime envirment because i know i need some sort of java and J2RE looked to be what i need but i got to download places and the downloads dont work for java so i have to go to there home page and then there is 100million differnt downloads how do i pic one ahhhhhhhhwwwwwww

so does any one have a link for me im running xp pro

(the downloads work at there home padge but there all like 100mb i know i dont need that ist it only like 9.3mb or somthing plz jive me a link i need java!!!
