new case-mobo-video card/ PCI video card

Here is my question. I am currently the not so proud owner of a Gateway midtower case with a ****ty motherboard, 1.8 Ghz p4 and no AGP slot. Should I go through all the necessary upgrades to finally get an AGP card (Buy a new case and PS, transfer everything to new case/ buy new Mobo {with much better processor and DDR Ram}/ and then get a new video card) or just I just buy a damn PCI Card? I found some PCI cards Here. There isnt much selection and they dont get very poweful becuase I wouldnt have the necessary bandwidth to transmit the data for all that power anyways. I just really wanna play UT 2003 on highest settings, thats all I want. If you think I should go through all the upgrades say so, and maybe point me in the direction of a new case and PS/Mobo combo? Or should I get a ****ty PCI card?

P.S. If anyone knows of a motherboard with AGP slot that would fit in my case (with maybe a little modification {i.e. cutting a hole for card in the case} please, please point it out.

-Thanks,
Glyde

Well, that's entirely up to you isn't it? What's you financial situation? I'd always say get the best you can afford, but not everyone likes that.
UT 2003 isn't that MASSIVELY demanding, a top of the range PCI card should suffice, the 1.8Ghz is capable enough, although you still might have to downgraade the settings a bit.
I doubt UT2003 is ALL you want to play, look down the line, will you think the same in 3 months? By which time, you should be thinking about upgrading anyway. There are a few recent posts about what the best PCI cards are, do a search, see what comes up.

You'd most likely have to do more then that, as most proprietary computers use proprietary mounting configurations

You may consider buying a case and MB with integrated video and agp slot. The video is based on the ati 9200 chipset.

The integrated video on this board is about 85% as fast as the fastest PCI card and it will provide the path for future upgrades. You can still use your current CPU and memory (assuming you have DDR).

ASUS MB $81 ( Supports 400/533/800 FSB and Hyper Threading )
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...log=280&depa=1

You can get a case for about $40 shipped

But if you want a PCI video card go for the at 9100 by VisionTek...they are getting hard to find.

Thanks guys. I think I go for all the upgrades. I might have a few more questions, so I'll be around.

Just in case anyone is interested.

Here is the link for the ati 9100 PCI card..Not a bad price $69 with $20 MIR (69.99 - $20 = $49.99).... even if you don't get the rebate, it is still a good price... I have seen the same card other places for $120.
