Was 2003 the most boring year on record for GPU's??

The R300 core is *still* the base of the top of the line video card?? UGH!!!

The NV30 was a total flop, and the rushed NV35 was just enough to stop the bleeding...

Anyway, just looking forward to getting back on track, it's been so boring the past year, I want something new!!

yea the 9800 pro was not exactly as a breakthrough of a card as the initial 9700 pro was and the 9800 xt is even less of a breakthrough, i found the whole nvidia cheating thing kinda interesting.

The 9600xt's core was pretty impressive imho (maybe Im biased becuase I own one). It's cheap, cool and even clocked faster than the 9800.

It probably was the most boring year ever, but I'm happy to have a 9800 XT

You know I take that back... the fact that ATi is continuing to kick nvidia's a$$ makes it anything but boring...
