Little WINE problem, sorry.

I have finally gotten around to trying to get wine running and I've hit a little snag. When I attempt to run I get this error.

Umm... if I were you I would not run applications in WINE as root.....

Running as root is generally a bad idea, period.
I admit to doing it whenever I am setting things up though, and when first getting used to a distro.

In any case:
one of the things I was reading recently (I am trying to get wine running in Slackware 9.1) is that although wine can run as various versions of windows, older versions are said to work best.
Running as Win95 is supposed to give fewer problems whenever possible, Win98 should take care of most software and running as Win2k or XP may be troublesome.

Exactly what the commandline switches are to change modes and which file to edit to change the default mode escape me right now, but google should pull it up pretty quick- or someone may post soon

Note: this may be completely unrelated but I noticed you text saying Win XP so it might do the trick.

I know it's not a good idea to run as root but I have nothing of major concern on this machine so if I FUBAR it I take full responsibility
