Whats a "Safe" temp for a oc'ed card??

I always wondered about this too, is a safe temp the same as that of a CPU?
My overclocked 9800 Pro runs at ~42*C idle, and when playing games, it tends to run up to 55*C.
Anyone?

GPUs can wistand extremely high temps(wonder why CPUs cant?). My default threshold temp for my 5900se is 140c  .

I would be money that is 140* F. 140C would start to melt/warp the board.

Also most gpus will start to crash and artifact before they reach dangerous temperatures.

IMO as long as its not artifacting it should be OK
(though i do have a temp probe that i have been meaning to stick next to the GPU, hmmm I'll probably do that sometime this weekend.)
