Can't get past 2.15GHz

No matter what I do I can't get past 2.15GHz. I have dropped the multiplyer and gotten the FSB up to 215. I have dropped the FSB and upped the multipler. I have upped the voltages to both the RAM and the CPU. No matter what I do, When the clock speed gets over 2.15 the system becomes unstable. I also tried 4 or 5 different BIOS ,Asus 1005, 1006, 1007 and Uber BIOS 1007. WTF What should I check next? Any comments welcome. I really do mean any. Thanks

What PSU are you using and what are your voltage rails?
Also what is your CPU temp? How about your RAM timing, did you set them to the most relaxed setting?

Hopefully, you haven't gotten to your CPU's max o/c.

I am having a very similar problem?!

My XP2200+ can't go over ~ the same speed without causing errors or whatever, crashing etc.

I've tried MANY combinations of voltages, multipliers, FSB's (even 220!)...

Now i think my ram may want more juice for 220mhz sync (~440mhz, 2-2-2-11), as its only getting 2.9V atm... BH-5 is said to really like 3-3.3V...

I've pumped my AIUHB XP2200 all the way to 2V on my ****house air!! there does not seem to be really any stability difference (like, still unstable) between 2.1-2.3... the instability factor is about the same... what the?!

One thing that some of you need to realize is that processors are not always going to clock as high as others... some will simply not work past default... The 2500+ ought to hit 2.3 without any problems at stock voltage... and if you don't have a good enough power supply (400+ W) then that may very well be the problem.

As far as the 2200+, is this a palamino or a T-bred? I don't remember specifically. If it is a pally then I'd say you've maxed out... if a T-bred... well it will probably do 2.2-2.3 if you have good cooling and give it some voltage.

Hookj5 as maxima88 said what psu are u using i couldnt get past 2.22ghz with my old eagle 350watt psu upgraded to a FSP 350watt and look at my overclock now. I can go for more but i dont want to put more than 1.8V threw it as the stock voltage is only 1.5V

ChillPhatCat they didnt make a 2200+ pally

Wow, really? I have to bump mine to 1.85V to be stable in Windows at 200x11. I can't boot into Windows anything below... I am messing something up here?

update: Last night my computer crashed while I was playing a game. I only saw the Blue screen. Temps are 32*C. Clock was at 200 and multipler was at 10.5. I backed down the clock to 195. which means that I am running at 2.05 MHz. Anybody got any suggestions?

How's your voltage rails looking? More than likely, the chip isn't getting enough energy, so it crashes.

just for the basics, trying starting again at 133fsb (266) and trying raising the multi on your cpu... Anotate everything as far as how high and stable you got your proc to go on default voltage. then step up the vcore one step at a time until you've max'd out your vcore and found a stable multi on 133fsb... this will eventually give you a given range for your cpu. Once this has been evaluated by yourself, then you see if your proc will go over 2.1GHz... I have two XP2100 week 0248/0249 respectively... they both do 2.4GHz, +/- 60MHz from each other on v1.8.

Although checking with a MM is the BEST and from what a lotta people think the ONLY way to check your rails, there is a program called Motherboard montior.

http://mbm.livewiredev.com/

It should at least give you a ballpark figure. But the best way to to check your volts with a Multimeter (test the molex).

update: I increased my multipler by half steps until I got to 12.5. I then slowley increased my clock from 133 to 174. that means it is running as 2.175 and I haven't changed any volt settings at all. I benched with Prime 95, and AIDA32. MBM5 reads my VCore at 1.71 very steady, only occasinaly dipping to 1.70. +3.3 reads 3.25-3.38. MBM works every 1 sec. and the +3.3 almost never has the same reading from one sec. to the next.+5.00 reads 4.87-4.92 and is very stable, only changing ever 6 or 7 seconds. +12.00 is rock solid at 12.93. Right now Temp is 33*C. Gonna let it run for a while before I bump the clock. BTW, I use ClockGen to test with instead of rebooting every time and clearing cmos when it won't boot. These numbers are all soft clocked and not yet BIOSed. One small detail that I forgot to mention that might have bearing on my sucess so far. I read in my Motherboard manual about a jumper that is for CPU FSB. Default setting is for 333/266 the other setting is for 200FSB. I changed it to 200FSB. I don't know how good and idea that was, but everything seems fine for now.

UPDATE: Started all over. Clock to 200 and multi to 10.5. Passed Mem86, Prime toture, and crunched seti. Vcore @1.675 MMB5 reading it @1.74 . Clock to 202 x 10.5, Vcore 1.675, MMB reading Vcore @1.74=reboot after 10 or 15 min. so I upped the vcore to 1.700 and MMB5 read it @1.76=crash to blue screen after 10 or 15 min. I upped the vcore again 1.752, MMB reads @ 1.79=reboot after 10 or 15 min. Ram volt is set in BIOS to 2.8, Temp is 38*C. I touched the northbridge heatsink with my finger and it was cool. Any ideas???????????

There's a chance it could need a little more VCore. This system requires 1.8 at 200mhz bus and 1.9 at 205mhz bus, the most stable it got at 210... 2.0 volts, don't have the cooling to handle that though, (was about to hit 72C before it died... new fan on the way)
