rear speakers not working

Well, I just bought the Creative T5400, and I figured out that the back two speakers dont come on, not even with full volume control. Im using the sound card that comes with the mobo(NF7-S v2.0), and if im not mistaken im pretty sure that the integrated sound card is compatible with the 5.1 set up, now does anyone have any suggestions? ***installing drivers?, perhaps*****I also went to control panel and swithced the setup from 2.1 to 5.1.

have you tried plugging the rear speakers in to the front speaker jack??? Maybe they're defective.

i tried plugging only the rear speakers in. and they do work. Sound comes outta them so i dont think their defective.

it could just be that there's nothing playing on them. Try a DVD or a game that you know is in 5.1 sound.
