exe editor

Hi,
Several years ago there was a widely circulated program that allowed you to read exe files (and edit them). I dl’d it but have since lost it because of a crash. Does anyone know where I might be able to get it again or one that is similar? It has been a while and I don't recall the name.

You must be meaning a Hex-editor??
