slight windows xp prob

slight windows xp prob


for some reason when i end go to my task bar i dont see the user name under processes and iam logged in as a administrator. thats what im on always. any ideas how to get my name showing on there??

put a check in the box that says show processes from all users

I can't remember exactly, but I believe I saw this situation when infected with a variant of the Blaster virus. Scan your system with your AV software after making sure the signature files have been updated. Also, check in Safe Mode and see if the same problem occurs there.

ohh god plz dont, i formated like 4 days ago. im using this avast free thing. is that a good one or what?

I'm not familiar with avast...I use the free version of AVG 6.0, which you can get from MajorGeeks here:

...and never had a virus that it couldn't find and repair. The updates are also free, and available on a regular basis either from MajorGeeks or Grisoft.

mine does it by itself. so ur saying its a virus?

AVG also has the capability of updating itself...I was just suggesting that you have the option of downloading the newest version of 6.0 in it's entirety, which is available from either of the two sites I mentioned.

i scanned it and nothin was found ill try it with urs and see what happens. what if no virus is found what is causing it then??

hehe lol this like instant chat, i ran the test no virus found, yes running sp1 with all criticals installed
