Shuttle AN35N Ultra, can i use Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu??

I would like to ask if anyone has the same MB that I do and have installed a Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu heatsink/fan? I am not sure if this HSF will fit on my motherboard. I have checked around, I found a list of NOT compatible MBs (mine was not in the list) and i found a list of compatible MBs (again...mine not in the list). I know I need to have 55mm from center of cpu to accomodate the HSF....I think I have that, but difficult to measure without completely taking apart my machine (which i dont want to do unless i am installing the HSF)...just hope that someone else has the same setup...please, or if u know anything about this, I wouold appreciate your comments, suggestions or anything...

Thumbs up Thnx Man

Thnx for the help Lugee. I appreciate your response. I decided to get a Thermalright SLK947-U. I was told in a different forum that the Zalman is very good for being quiet but is not good for cooling an Oc'd processor. Since I Oc my cpu I need air and dont care about noise at this point. SO I bought a Thermalright heatsink and a big 92mm fan that pushes 119 cfm. Supposed to be quite lud...hahahahhaa..maybe I will change my mind about noise once I have it installed. I really do appreciate your reply. It is so nice to have a place to come and ask a question and get real help.

thats a great heatsink. haha. no problem.

i have a SK7 sitting on my asus with a Tornado 80mm. i have a 92mm for the case fan. but i took it off. i think thats the fan you purchased. its LOUD. even when i set it on low with my hardcano 9 its really LOUD. and to think, i had 2 of them =)

good luck on your project =P

BTW. just for your knowledge, the zalman wont fit. the an35n ultra doesnt have the mounting holes.

im not sure, but i think the SK947 needs moutning holes also? correct me if im wrong.

The AN35N Ultra does have the 4 holes around the CPU socket if thats what you're referring to, they are hard to see as they aren't highlighted like some boards do but they are there.

Darn it!!!

I am so angry with myself now. I ordered the SLK-947U......but when I checked the motherboard compatibility list it specifically says this heatsink will not fit my MB......I should be shot. I sent a message back to heatsinkfactory.com trying to change my order, but they had already shipped it. SO now I have to wait for the darn thing to get here and then return it. I am so so so stupid. I have now decided once I straighten this mess out that I will buy the SLK-900A. But this may take quite awhile to fix the order and all.....please please please someone shoot me!!!

I believe your OK rdrash as I've seen some posts and all you have to do is remove a small corner of the mounting plate so it clears a cap and your good to go from what I've heard, you'll know better when you see it but all is not lost. Word was mounting plate is oversized because it can be used on P4s but the extra isn't needed for AMD mounting. Good Luck and keep us posted as to what you find. Good deal on Heatsink Factory, I've done some business with them, great people.
