sendmail script to add new users

Hi,

how can i automatize adding new users to sendmail ? are there scripts available to do this?
and do i need to add a system user just to add them to sendmail ?

you are correct

hi,

ok but meanwhile i learned that most professional tools use virtual users for sendmail on top of a registered local user. so not every sendmail user gets system user status.
tools like webmin that come also with a perl script for adding these virtual users etc. (www.webmin.com)

what other tools and possibilities are there to add users on a script basis?

How do you plan to give users access to their email? This will in large part determine which methods you can use.
