Nforce2 audio problems

I'm using the onboard sound on my nf7-s r2. It just started crackling yesterday, and I can't listen to anything now it's so bad. Anyone else had this problem? I'm hoping the southbridge isn't dying.

Are you overclocking your computer at all??

Edit: This is aparantly a common problem w/ nForce2 boards. I have the other common problem: Stuttering audio. Aparantly, one fix is to cool your Southbridge. I'm considering that.

yeah it happens when the bridges get way to hott. GO nvidia!! so like oni said cool it, but the problem is more serious wiht the NF series of boards as well as the ASUS. My shuttle hardly does it, but when it does its bloody annoying, to bad I cant cram some heatsinks in there or something.
