I just installed Suse 9.0 Personal on a drive with Win98se. It was a reinstall as I got frustrated first time around after trying to install the 3-d Driver. My soundcard seems to have installed OK as I get sound on the startup screen. However, I can't get a music cd to play. I' sure its just because I missed something but what I don't know. In the configuration the card shows up and the sound test works but no sound from the cd is delivered to the soundcard. I can listen through headphones and the player Kscd functions but no sound through the card. What did I miss? Do I have to mount the Cd-rom? If so, how? The user guide is not real clear to me. The card is a Hercules FIII, I can also get the on-board sound device to test the same.

Thanks Bill
