Just overclocked my 2600+ barton to 3200+ barton with my new Thermaltake Volcano 12 heatsink running at 5500rpm.
I got these readings under load.
any good.

Sensor Properties
Sensor Type ITE IT8712F
Sensor Access ISA 290h

Temperatures
Motherboard 21 °C (70 °F)
CPU 43 °C (109 °F)
Aux 30 °C (86 °F)

Cooling Fans
CPU 5444 RPM
Chassis 2596 RPM

Voltage Values
CPU Core 1.70 V
+2.5 V 2.66 V
+3.3 V 3.34 V
+5 V 4.22 V
+12 V 12.03 V
+5 V Standby 4.70 V

is this 43C at load or just ideal? If ideal its the exact same temps i have... but instead of a volcano 12 heatsink i have a 7+. ;)

ive got the same board, 2700+ @ 2.25Ghz (11x204) thats more than a 3200+ and im at:

Sensor Properties:
Sensor Type ITE IT8712F
Sensor Access ISA 290h

Temperatures:
Motherboard 20 °C (68 °F)
CPU 36 °C (97 °F)
Aux 29 °C (84 °F)

Cooling Fans:
CPU 3516 RPM
Chassis 2679 RPM
Power Supply 8232 RPM

Voltage Values:
CPU Core 1.71 V
+2.5 V 2.77 V
+3.3 V 3.31 V
+5 V 4.22 V
+12 V 12.16 V
+5 V Standby 4.70 V

although my chip is a Thorughbred B, so i think it runs a bit cooler than bartons do. Coolermaster Aero 7+ w/OCZ Ultra TIM

Check my sig for my 2600 Barton temps...

BTW, if your chip is a XP Thoroughbred @ 2.25gHz, then doesn't that translate to around a 2800+? A Barton 3200+ runs at 2.2gHz, but a Thoroughbred XP needs to run at around 2.55gHz, as the Barton has a performance edge with the 512k L2.

The temps were under load for about 2 hours of Si-soft burn in. Ive just installed the Volcano 12 yesterday and and applied sum TIM so temps should come down over next few days as the paste works in. Its a BARTON core 2600+ which would run at 1.9ghz and now at 2.2GHZ. My idle temps with a few programs running in the background are. My case flow is pretty crap so i will be looking at that to draw some air into the case. The last Heastink i had was an AKASA 824cu 2500rpm fan and it had temps of 60+deg at 3200+ speeds.

Nice to see you back, BRIMCV..Your temps are getting better. What type or brand of TIM did you use, just out of curiousity?
What is your CPU usage at load in task manager?Do you have Prime - 95 ? Its a good program to check stability and temps with.

Cheers 4 the welcome. At the first post it was at max 100% the TIM is ANTEC couldnt get Artic Silver locally as the various computer places said "We dont use that too expensive" yeah ive used prime 95 also Si soft burn in also done sum Super Pi to give me an indication of speed 50secs for 1M and 1min 54 for 2M. Also ran seti @ home for a good few hours was gettin max load from that. Its extremely stable no problems at all. :D

Good, Nice to hear that. Some AS 5 might get you down to around 40°C .Did you get your case fixed up like we had talked about? What is your ambient(room) temp.

Yeah i put the "blow hole" in for extracting and also flipped the psu cos the warm air from it was blowing onto the cpu and sink. Cut the guard out at the back and next part is two fans for intake.Other consideration is get a new case which i could do when i go back 2 work this week. The psu is blowing air out from the top of the case and the blow hole is also extracting air from the top of the case.

Have you seen my newest setup, called the 92mm Edition? It's on page 18 of the Modding Xaser III thread, half way down the page.
So now I have 5 case fans instead of 7..The top blow hole is the only stock 80mm fan left to change out. Then it will be a true 92mm Edition Xaser III ! THE FANMAN:cool:
