amd 2500+ or p4 2.8c for gaming??

amd:

amd 2500+ barton
abit nf7-s
kingston hyperx pc 3500

p4:
p4 2.6c
abit ic7
kingston hyperx pc 3500


i wanna overclock the system, problem with amd is im scared to remove the stock heatsink and put a better one in, scared to kill die cpu

Either of them would be great for gaming - although I think a P4 2.6 will probably just beat an XP2500+. It really depends on the game AFAIK - some game engines tend to work better with some CPUs. (Quake engine works best with Intel?)

most CPU reviews have the UT engine running better on AMD chips... dunno why

ye i saw that 2, thats y my topic, i see in benchmarks a lot that amd beats p4 a lot
