In the past AMD always releases a Unlocked, extremely overclockable chip that they are about to phase out. Remember the Tbird days and the K6-3+? I have a feeling that right before AMD phases out the AXP and assuming they can get the new process on 0.09 they'll test it on the AXP and those will be the farewell chips. If history is to repeat itself those chips will be unlocked.

You may be right Tebore. There can be no doubt that Socket A is nearing the end of its life. But with chips as good as Applebred Duron 1400's available at Newegg for $37.00, it is still a strong price/performance platform for the indefinite future.

Maybe they'll only make them (.09) for the mobile market again too. :D
